Read Psalm 119

Daily Devotion..... take each of those words and break them down. Reflect in on yourself, when you open the word of God are you devoted to it? Are you devoted ....daily... to ...Him? Psalm 119 is such a tremendous gift from God because it helps us to see what being Devoted to His word really looks like! The psalmist is pouring out his heart for Gods word. Why did he do this? He must have experienced something that made him want to write THE LONGEST CHAPTER IN THE BIBLE! What touched him so deeply? We may never know. One thing I do know is that you have an opportunity every day experience exactly what he did, motivated by nothing but God alone.

Take your time in this reading because it will lead to greater levels of love for what it says. That means don't rush..... or set goals.... just enjoy it and take your time. Recognize that as you read you are listening to Him speak to you. Recognize that you can fall more in love with Him. Recognize that you can bring Him Glory and Honor with what you may learn as you read. Be devoted to the word, and listen to God speak through it. Here are just a few Highlights from my reading of this amazing passage.

“How can a young man keep his way pure? By living according to your word.” Ps. 119:9

“I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you.” Ps. 119:11

“Open my eyes that I may see wonderful things in your law.” Ps. 119:18

“I run in the path of your commands, for you have set my heart free.” Ps. 119:32

“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path.” Ps. 119:105

“All your words are true, all your righteous laws are eternal.” Ps. 119:160

“Great peace have they who love your law, and nothing can make them stumble.” Ps. 119:165

Dear God,

Thank you for the great richness and Truth of Your Word. Thank you that your word is a light for our path, a lamp to our feet, that gives direction for our days. May our lives be faithful to living each day according to your ways. Help us to love your words, to hide them within our hearts. Open our eyes that we might see your deep and hidden treasures, and know you more and more. Help us to run in the path of your commands, thank you that you set our hearts free.
