God gave generously to us, and everything in our life belongs to the creator of all things. Therefore it is our responsibility to hold each other accountable to EMBRACE and grow in generosity. A consistent church conversation about giving combats greed, pride, and selfishness, while inviting us to experience the blessing of giving generously in response to God.

 

“The tithe simply is not a sufficiently radical concept to embody the carefree unconcern for possessions that marks life in the Kingdom of God. It is quite possible to tithe and at the same time oppress the poor and needy. Perhaps the tithe can be a beginning way to acknowledge God as the owner of all things, but it is only a beginning and not an ending.”
